A Soothing Mint Tea Recipe for Spring

Written by Rosa Meyer | April 07, 2022

Spring has sprung all around us, including at farmer's markets and in our own backyards. Take advantage of the fresh herbs cropping up and your body's natural inclination to lighten up with this simple and soothing mint tea recipe.  A ritual that originated in Morocco and was later introduced in my native Holland, a refreshing cup of mint tea is popular in Dutch culture and can be found in many Amsterdam cafes. The science-backed benefits include calming an upset stomach, reducing nausea, and even relieving allergy symptoms—another reason to brew some up right now!

FRESH MINT TEA RECIPE (makes 1-2 servings)

Ingredients
3-6 sprigs mint
1-2 cups of water

Directions
Add mint and water to a sauce pan. Cover and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to a simmer and allow mint to steep for 5 minutes.
Strain or remove mint sprigs and enjoy!

Rosie says: For a touch of sweetness, or to soothe a sore throat, stir in a spoonful of honey before mindfully sipping.
